Use these tips and tricks to keep your computer running as efficiently and quickly as possible.

Delete your Cookies and
Temporary Files

You can also clear your viewed website history here if you choose.  

1.Click on Clear History.

2.Click Yes.

Or... change your homepage.

1.In the box next to address, type in the web address of the page you want Internet Explorer to open to first. 

  • Close any open programs
  • Click Start
  • Click Control Panel (some older computers may have Control Panel under Settings)
  • Click on Network and Internet Connections
  • Click on Internet Options
  • Click on Delete Cookies and click Yes on the popup window that comes up
  • Click on Delete Files and when the popup window comes up check the box that says delete all offline content, then click Ok.

Or...

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Click Tools on the top of the page 
  • Scroll down and Click on Internet Options
  • Click on Delete Cookies and click Yes on the popup window that comes up
  • Click on Delete Files and when the popup window comes up check the box that says delete all offline content, then click Ok.

Or... for those more techincal people...you can delete your Temporary Internet Files this way...

  • Click Start
  • Click Run
  • Type in %temp% next to Open
  • A folder will open displaying the Temporary Internet Files
  • Push the CTRL and A keys at the same time
  • This selects all files in the folder
  • Push Delete
  • Click Yes
  • Empty your Recycle Bin

How to Defragment your Computer   

This process defragments your hard disks so your computer runs faster and more efficiently.

 
                           

  • Click Start
  • Click on All Programs
  • Click on Accessories
  • Click on System Tools
  • Click on Disk Defragementer
  • Click on your Hard Drive (usually (C:))
  • Click Defragment
